How this works

Last updated: 21 October 2026

SchoolAppeal.ie helps parents draft a letter appealing a school admission refusal. This page explains, in plain words, what happens, who does what, and what we do not do.

1. What happens, step by step

  1. Tell us about the refusal: the school, the class and year, the date on the refusal letter, your reasons, and your child's name and date of birth.
  2. We show you a free, watermarked preview of your letter. Nothing is charged until you decide you want it.
  3. If you do, you pay once (EUR 14.99). Your clean letter appears on screen straight away and you can save it as a PDF. We also email you one copy, so you have it.
  4. You check every name, date and reason, sign it, and send it to the school's Board of Management or to the Department of Education yourself. We never send anything for you.

2. What the tool does, and what the AI does

The tool: the structure of the letter and the legal references are set by the tool's own fixed rules, not left to the AI. Dates and names are used exactly as you type them.

The AI: the AI model writes the wording that ties your own facts to the reasons you chose. It is told to use only what you typed and not to invent facts. Everything it writes is checked automatically before you see it (see our Acceptable Use Policy), and it is always a draft for you to check.

3. What we do not do

We do not decide whether your appeal will succeed, we do not send anything to a school or the Department of Education, and we are not solicitors. Appeal time limits are your responsibility: check your refusal letter and the school's admission policy. If you are unsure, take independent legal advice.

4. Your information, and your child's

5. Price, refunds and help

Price: EUR 14.99, paid once. There is no subscription and nothing renews. If it is not what you needed, ask for a refund within 48 hours and we will refund you in full. See the Refund Policy. Email hello@schoolappeal.ie; we reply to every message, normally within one business day.

6. Who we are

SchoolAppeal.ie is an independent service based in Ireland. We are not part of, or endorsed by, the Department of Education or any school.
