Privacy Notice

Last updated: June 2026

SchoolAppeal.ie ("we", "us") is operated from Ireland. This notice explains how we handle your personal data when you use our school appeal letter generator.

What data we collect

When you generate a letter, you provide: your name and address, your child's name and date of birth, school name and address, and details of your appeal. Payment is processed by Stripe — we do not store card details.

How we use your data

We use the information you provide solely to generate your appeal letter. After the letter is delivered, we do not retain your personal data on our servers. Stripe retains payment records in accordance with their privacy policy.

Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of contract performance (to provide the letter you purchased) and legitimate interests (service operation and fraud prevention).

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the service:

International data transfers

To create your appeal letter we send the details you enter to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes them on servers in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA — to Anthropic, and where applicable Stripe and Vercel — the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, namely Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, under each provider's data-processing terms. Anthropic retains API inputs for up to 30 days for safety and security purposes, then permanently deletes them, and does not use data submitted through its API to train its models.

How long we keep your data

Your rights

Under the GDPR and Data Protection Acts 1988–2018, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required to operate the site. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
